Job summary

Norton Healthcare is hiring a CAT Scanner Technologist to perform high quality diagnostic CT imaging, while applying clinical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging technique. The role includes patient preparation, education and safety, with a focus on accurate positioning and image quality.

The position involves training and supervising students, adherence to infection control and radiation safety standards, and collaboration with the radiology team in a busy department in Louisville.

Qualifications

• State Radiography License AND must obtain ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire
• Temporary State Radiography License AND must obtain ARRT-CT or NMTCB(CT) within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• The CAT Scanner Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality.
• Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns.
• Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
• Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
• Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
