Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville is seeking a CAT Scanner Technologist to operate CT imaging systems, prepare patients, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images. You will educate patients and ensure safety, positioning, and image quality in a fast-paced radiology department.

Responsibilities include supervising students during training and maintaining strict infection control and radiation safety standards in daily practice.

Qualifications

• State Radiography License is required; ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Temporary State Radiography License allowed with ARRT-CT or NMTCB(CT) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic CT images using imaging systems and related equipment.
• Ensures patient safety, correct positioning, infection control, and adherence to radiation safety standards.

The CAT Scanner Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
