Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Part-time CT Scan Technologist to join our Imaging department. The role requires CT registry, ARRT certification, NJ license, and 1–3 years of experience. You will perform CT examinations, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with Radiologists across satellite locations.

Responsibility includes equipment operation, protocol adherence, and maintaining infection control standards while delivering high-quality diagnostic images. Travel to satellite sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Advanced CT registry required.
• Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
• Licensed by NJ State DEP.
• BLS certification required; IV certified preferred.
• Proficient with RIS and PACS systems.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT examinations with proper positioning and protocol adherence.
• Follows department protocol unless directed by Radiologist.
• Produces quality diagnostic CT images for interpretation.
• Manages patient care delivery and safety.
• Communicates with Radiologist and verifies orders.
• Obtains patient history and documents relevant information.
• Maintains CT room cleanliness and adheres to infection control standards.
• Prepares patients and provides instructions to minimize anxiety.
• Operates CT equipment safely; power injectors experience preferred.
• Maintains Radiation Safety awareness and documentation.

Job Description

Job Title: Part time CAT Scan Technologist

Department: Imaging

Schedule: Monday–Friday 1:30pm–8:00pm.

Essential Job functions :

• Performs CT examinations requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning, CT protocols, and equipment so that selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimum results.
• Follows appropriate departmental protocol for procedures unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
• Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
• Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders.
• Obtains and documents, patient history and relevant information.
• Ensures CT room’s cleanliness after exam and procedure. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
• Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
• Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Operates CT and medical imaging equipment properly and safely.
• Experience with Power injectors preferred.
• Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
• Prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials.

General Job functions:

• Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.
• The ability to perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.
• The ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Attend department meetings.
• Other job duties as required.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

• 1-3 years’ experience required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies
• Advanced registry in CT required
• Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
• Licensed by NJ State DEP.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies
• BLS certification is required. IV certified preferred.
• Maintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systems.
• The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
• Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems.

Travel:

• Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed

Pay Range: $42.12 - $52.69 Hourly

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
