Starr Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Cat Scan Technician to perform imaging procedures, ensure patient understanding, and uphold safety and quality standards. The position requires ARRT registration in Radiology and CT, a current Radiation Operator Certificate in the state, and a BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography (ARRT).
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders; educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; monitors patient condition and reports changes.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters; performs QC procedures and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
  • Implements safety standards and QC procedures; troubleshoots and resolves equipment issues as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results and identifies image quality issues; documents and reports scan results.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

What We’re Looking For

Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.
