Job summary

Milton CAT seeks an experienced Earthmoving Field Service Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of CAT heavy equipment on customer sites and shop. The role requires flexibility and strong product knowledge; some after-hours work may be needed.

You will perform inspections, measurements, tests, and create service reports, maintain tools, and stay current with tooling and system advances while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three years experience as an earthmoving field technician.
• Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar.
• Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• DOT and MSHA certifications required.
• Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in the field without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.
• Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
• Determines reusability of parts according to Caterpillar guidelines.
• Orders replacement parts ensuring accuracy at time of order.
• Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
• Tests, measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems.
• Prepares inspection and appraisal reports.
• Prepares accurate service reports timely.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to policy.
• Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
