Role Overview

As an experienced professional, you will handle sophisticated litigation and coverage issues, including long-tail bodily injury, property damage, Coverage B of Primary/Excess CGL policies, construction defect, environmental, and toxic tort claims. You will manage emerging risks such as PFAS and opioids, and serve as a coverage resource for colleagues and underwriters. You will be supported by a dedicated management team focused on achieving optimal claim outcomes and your success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluate coverage on complex insurance products.
2. Manage counsel for coverage evaluation and defense.
3. Assess damages with outside experts.
4. Evaluate financial impacts on AIG and insureds.
5. Develop and implement strategies for favorable resolution; negotiate with insureds and third parties.
6. Advise business partners on exposures and product enhancements.
7. Inform claims and business leaders about emerging risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect, or Environmental fields.
• Ability to handle complex claims involving GL and Environmental coverage issues.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and investigation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Jersey City, NJ: $76,000-$103,000 | Illinois: $91,000-$114,000. Positions are bonus-eligible. Benefits details available in the 2025 Benefits Summary.
