Job summary

HDI Global Insurance Company in Chicago, IL is seeking a seasoned Casualty Claims Specialist to investigate and settle complex commercial casualty claims, including product liability and construction liability. You will lead negotiations, coordinate with outside counsel, and ensure accurate reporting of large losses.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience in claims management, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Licenses: state adjuster licenses with ongoing education credits.
• Litigation and insurance claim management experience in product/construction liability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze medical records and investigative reports.
• Strong attention to detail and interpretation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Multi-tasking and adaptability to change.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and databases.

Responsibilities

• Investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex commercial casualty claims.
• Represent the company and clients in litigation teams when necessary.
• Independently resolve significant exposure claims on favorable terms.
• Manage outside counsel and external service providers to control costs and work product.
• Analyze policy coverages and prepare coverage position letters when needed.
• Prepare timely reports for management on large losses and progress.
• Regular mediation or informal negotiation of claims.
• Develop relationships with customers, brokers, and colleagues; travel as required.
