Job summary

Crane Nuclear is seeking a MOV Actuator Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on MOV actuators, wiring terminations, disassembly/re-assembly, lubrication, and diagnostics in radiological and non-radiological environments.

This seasonal contract role requires 12-hour rotating shifts, travel up to 80%, strong safety and teamwork, and meeting LATMR training or LATMR exam qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of related experience.
• Excellent safety and attendance performance is expected.
• A commitment to safety and strong communications skills are a must.
• Mechanical or electrical knowledge a plus.
• Must have a strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and continuous improvement.
• Must be able to work in teams while effectively communicating.
• Meet current certification and qualification requirements per CRANE Nuclear QAP-2.0: LATMR Training OR Challenge LATMR Exam (TM-7) LATMR TPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties safely and work in accordance with customer or CRANE procedures.
• Perform MOV Diagnostic Testing, data acquisition, MOV Actuator Set-up, instrument calibrations, analyze MOV Diagnostic Signatures.
• Possess an in-depth knowledge of motor operated valves and the latest industry issues.
• May be required to complete duties of predecessor titles.
• Complete MOV Diagnostic testing in radiological and non-radiological environments.

Job Description Position Title MOV Actuator Technician Reports To Test Supervisor, Shift Coordinator or Project Manager

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Limitorque, EIM, and Rotorque actuators. Perform actuator wiring terminations and de-terminations. MOV Actuator, and actuator component disassembly, inspection, lubrication, and re-assembly. Perform rigging and torquing as required. Assist in valve work, testing as required. Able to refurbish/replace actuator, inspect, consolidate packing, and set MOV. Note, this is a seasonal contract position.

Physical Requirements

• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, up to 72 hours per week
• Ability to travel up to 80%; must be able to travel and support all domestic work orders
• Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance
• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods ( 4-6 hours at a time)
• Ability to work in clean, safe, and orderly manner
• Ability to climb, balance, and work at heights from platforms, scaffolding, and ladders (fixed or temporary)
• Ability to wear fall-protection
• Ability to work in extreme heat (greater than 100 degrees F) and within OSHA guidelines
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to carry, grip, and work with hand tools
