Job summary

Summit Orthopedics in the Twin Cities network seeks a Casual Sterile Processing Technician to support five Surgery Centers in Woodbury, Eagan, Vadnais Heights, Plymouth, and Minnetonka. You will decontaminate, sterilize, wrap, and distribute surgical instruments while maintaining logs and inventory.

You'll work on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed schedule, and you may float between locations with a home base at Summit's Sterile Processing team.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized Sterile Processing certification highly desired upon hire or must be obtained within 1 year of hire date.
• Basic Life Support required on hire.
• Cert Sterile Proc Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment; inspects, assembles, wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments.
• Monitors wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency in decontamination.
• Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory; submits requisitions; distributes instruments and equipment.
• Maintains sterile processing area and cross-functional collaboration with OR staff.
