Join UPMC Shadyside’s Oncology Team on 2 Pavilion/South!

  • Experienced RNs: Casual and/or Limited Casual position available for nurses with 1+ years of experience
  • About UPMC Shadyside: A 4x Magnet-designated teaching hospital and center of ongoing, cutting-edge research and education.
  • Flexible Shifts: A minimum of 30 shifts are required to be worked each year, or 36 hours are required to be worked within 6 weeks

About 2 Pav/South:

Shadyside 2 Pavilion and 2 South are fast-paced hematology/oncology units that are advancing cancer care. Nurses in these units specialize in centralizing the care of medically managed patients who have received chemotherapy treatments. Ongoing education is valued, supported, and encouraged on 2 Pavilion and 2 South, making it a great unit for experienced nurses seeking to expand their clinical knowledge.

  • High-Acuity Patients: Patients on this unit require staff members who are highly motivated, encouraging, and driven to provide patients with the best possible experiences and outcomes.
  • Career Advancement: UPMC Shadyside Hospital is connected physically to Hillman Cancer Center which is the main center of all cancer care within the UPMC system.
  • Fast-Paced Teamwork: Our Registered Nurses work rotation shifts including weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • ACLS within 12 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both didactic and skills demonstration within 30 days of hire.
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
  • UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
