Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I for casual PRN variable shifts in McHenry, IL. This position is part-time with rotating shifts and an hourly pay rate of $46.00.

The role requires graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program, CRT or RRT certification, an Illinois license (active or pending), and BLS. Preferred qualifications include PALS and ACLS, with a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Formación

• Graduate from an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Certification as CRT or RRT is required or pending.
• Active or Pending Illinois Respiratory Care License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Competent in all adult med surg units in all respiratory therapies and modalities.
• Understands and implements adult respiratory protocols, policies, and guidelines on med surg units.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy; adjusts frequencies as appropriate.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Educates patients/families on respiratory disease management and resources.
• Competent in all adult care areas including med/surg units, ED, and critical care as directed.
• Responds to clinical emergencies and participates in rounds with the team.
• Evaluates and updates respiratory care policies based on outcomes and best practices.
• Precepts students and contributes to team teaching.
• Promotes teamwork and professionalism in line with NM Code of Professionalism.
