Job summary

Grand Lake Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for an outpatient role. The position involves patient greeting, history taking, EMR documentation, and coordination with physicians and the health team. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as is maintaining patient privacy and a clean work area.

Casual/part-time, Monday–Friday hours with first shift, no weekends or holidays required. BCLS certification and CMA credentials are expected within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or will graduate within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA or another certifying body; credentialing obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Basic clinical and clerical skills in outpatient setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, coworkers, and the public.
• Completion of BCLS Healthcare Provider Course.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients through the medical practice.
• Completes patient history and documents in the EMR.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team to implement orders.
• Implements and documents care; uses teach-back for patient understanding.
• Maintains patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
• Maintains work area, equipment and supplies per guidelines.
• Communicates openly with patients and health team.
• Liaises with outside agencies and providers to coordinate care.
• Follows infection control guidelines and department policies.
