Job Description
Basic Scope/Purpose: The Casting Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring essential machines in the department to produce Urethane Cast Slab Stock.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Loads drums of materials in ovens and on rotators, prepares reinforcement fabric, colors, and other components for production use.
- Operates mixing pots to produce a variety of mixes according to specifications.
- Sets up urethane application system and press operational conditions according to run specifications.
- Operates casting machine, making adjustments to meet quality and production criteria; uses gauges to maintain quality; cuts test samples; maintains equipment as needed.
- Unloads finished cast rolls, conducts post cures, moves finished goods to storage, and manages raw materials.
- Performs cleaning and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Records processing information accurately; manages scrap and disposes of waste responsibly.
- Adheres to ISO Work Instructions and updates documentation accordingly.
- Uses JD Edwards shop floor control system for data entry.
- Reports quality and processing issues to supervisor.
- Maintains a clean work environment and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performs other tasks of similar or lesser scope as required, including working in other departments.
- Promotes company values and behaviors.
Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow EHS policies, attend training, and wear PPE at all times.
- Participate in risk assessments, inspections, and safety observations.
- Report incidents and hazards, and stop work if imminent danger is present.
- Maintain a tidy work area and proper equipment functioning.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, with six months related experience or training, or equivalent.
- Must be a Level III Operator.
- No specific certificates or licenses required.
