Job summary

Siemens Energy in Gibsonton, FL is seeking a skilled operator to perform surface preparation on castings, including blasting, belting, grinding and benching according to production specs to ensure high-quality parts.

You will set up benching procedures, prepare castings for inspection, verify serial numbers with Mercury, troubleshoot machines, and support maintenance with technicians. Cross-training and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year(s) using hand tools; plastics/ceramics extrusion or injection/blow mold experience a plus.
• Experience with inspection equipment (calipers, pin gauges) is a plus.
• Able to perform math using the metric system and read engineering instructions.
• United States work authorization; export-controlled tech may require licenses.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating benching procedures on castings using basic tools like die grinders, tool belts, buffing wheels, blast cabinets, and auxiliary equipment.
• Preparing castings to be visually inspected.
• Using Mercury to verify serial numbers, adjusting machines, performing troubleshooting, and maintaining the quality of the parts produced.
• Performing improvement analysis and basic or defined maintenance operations with maintenance technicians or external service providers.
• Cross training and other duties may be assigned as needed.
