Job description

Casting Machine Operator - 2nd shift (Direct Hire)

Locations: Milwaukee, WI / Brown Deer, WI / Menomonee Falls, WI

Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for achieving quality castings through the operation of a brass low-pressure casting unit. Responsibilities include programming machine cycle starts, monitoring HMI controls and alarms, shot blasting molds, and hand loading ingot bars into the automated feeder.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure automated production equipment and materials meet operating parameters outlined in the process sheet.
  2. Conduct visual inspections of castings to ensure they meet foundry standards.
  3. Monitor machine alarms for malfunctions and make adjustments to maintain maximum efficiency (80 sec/cycle), or notify the casting lead for further adjustments.
  4. Complete all required production paperwork to improve methods and equipment performance.
  5. Identify and segregate scrap from production.
  6. Perform weekly cleaning of molten metal furnaces.
  7. Perform all job functions as outlined in the functional job analysis.
