Job summary

Steel Dynamics in Columbus, MS is hiring a Casting Floating (CFRG) teammate to provide flexible support across the casting department. The role involves housekeeping, assisting the caster and LMF deck, stocking materials, and performing crane and equipment tasks as needed.

You will contribute to quality data collection, participate in routine maintenance, and adapt to scheduled or unscheduled shifts in a hot industrial environment. Strong safety mindset required.

Floater position available for assisting anywhere in the assigned department

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping
• Assist Caster and LMF deck in all areas of job
• Stocking Materials, and Various Clean-ups
• Caster turn Arounds
• Machine Changes and Assist at Ladle Wall
• Train on Caster Crane
• Safe operation of all area cranes and mobile equipment
• Support routine maintenance activities, downturn work, and preventative maintenance checks
• Continuous observations and recording of quality data
• Various utility functions assigned by area supervisor

Qualifications

Required

• Strong safety awareness
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently without direct supervision
• Works well with others and independently
• Quality and detail-oriented
• Mechanically inclined
• Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled
• Ability to work routinely in a hot
• Repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting, and walking will be required to support routine responsibilities

Preferred
