Job summary

Steel Dynamics in Mississippi seeks a floater to assist anywhere in the assigned department. Responsibilities include housekeeping, supporting caster and LMF deck, stocking materials, and performing routine cleanups.

Candidates should have strong safety awareness, good communication, be self-motivated, work well with others or independently, and be mechanically inclined. Training on caster crane and safe operation of cranes and mobile equipment is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong safety awareness required (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping across the department.
• Assist Caster and LMF deck in all areas of the job.
• Stock materials and perform routine clean-ups.
• Caster turnarounds support.
• Machine changes and assist at Ladle Wall.
• Train on Caster Crane.
• Safe operation of cranes and mobile equipment.
• Support routine maintenance, downturn work, and preventive checks.
• Continuous observations and recording of quality data.
• Various utility functions assigned by area supervisor.
