Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the design and deployment of automated material handling lines in a fast-paced automotive setting. You will develop 3D robotic work cell simulations, validate integration, and optimize Fanuc paths and tooling.

The role requires 6+ years in manufacturing with strong knowledge of Siemens NX, Process Simulate, HMI development, and safety standards. Expect up to 60% domestic travel for installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical or related field.
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience designing and launching material handling lines with automation tools.
• Advanced skills in robotics cell design and simulation tools, plus data management expertise.
• Strong pneumatics/hydraulic drawings and electrical schematics knowledge.
• Experience with Fanuc robot simulations, virtual validation and root cause troubleshooting.
• Leadership and problem-solving abilities focused on efficiency and simplification.
• Safety and ergonomic standards for automated production lines.
• Experience leading technical teams during equipment design and commissioning.
• 3+ years in high pressure die casting environment.
• Knowledge of vision systems and industrial networks.
• Siemens NX 3D modeling and E-plan skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and launch automated material handling production lines.
• Develop 3D simulations of robotic work cells to validate integration and kinematics.
• Program and validate Fanuc tracks and end-of-arm tools, optimize cycles.
• Drive virtual commissioning to shorten prototyping and accelerate readiness.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability.
• Create and maintain equipment specifications, tooling drawings, and maintenance docs.
• Travel up to 60% domestically for installations and commissioning.
