Weekend Shift Caster - Aerospace

$22.63 per hour / 5% Quarterly Bonus plan / Scheduled 36 hours but paid for 40

CPP Syracuse is looking for a full-time caster on the weekend shift (Friday-Sunday, 6 am - 6 pm) to join our aerospace team. Positions start at $22.63 per hour, and we offer a quarterly bonus program. We are currently offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

CANDIDATES OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST & BACKGROUND STUDY PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

Major Responsibilities
  • Responsible for interpreting melting and casting specifications for an air melt unit.
  • Ability to set up air and/or vacuum units to meet required melting parameters.
  • Must be able to tolerate high heat temperatures and handling molten metal.
  • Responsible for leading the pouring process.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and standard work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Solid job history with 1 year at recent or prior employer preferred.
  • Flexible on shifts, including working swing or weekends.
  • Desire to work with your hands in a production environment.
  • HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possess relevant experience will be considered.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must take a baseline hearing test prior to starting.
  • Some positions require vision screening with or without corrective lenses.
Working Conditions
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The physical effort in this job includes lifting, pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, or shoveling.
  • Manufacturing requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
