Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Caster Technician. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing the casting machine for molten steel, operating the ladle slide-gate to control steel flow, making tundish additions, sampling and measuring tundish temperature, performing ladle shroud exchanges, assisting with steel transfer from tundish to mold, maintaining inventory of supplies, monitoring caster functions, operating overhead cranes, assisting with mold and segment changes, and tundish and mold repair.

This position requires working a rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

This greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill in Mason County, WV, near Huntington and Charleston, capable of producing up to 3 million tons annually.

Safety is paramount at Nucor. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year of direct melting or casting experience
• At least one year of sheet mill or bar mill experience
