Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Caster/Melter on the 1st shift to operate casting furnaces and pour precious metal alloys into finished parts. You will manage molds, operate hydraulic controls, and ensure quality while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of casting experience, a high school diploma or technical training, and the ability to read work orders and use precision measuring tools in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
• 1-3 years experience with casting furnaces, crucibles, hydraulic controls, and molds.
• Comfortable with precision measuring tools and inspection of finished castings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate casting furnaces to cast gold, silver, and other precious metal alloys into finished products.
• Charge and light furnaces, bring melt to correct pouring temperature, and control the pour with hydraulic control system.
• Read production orders and process sheets to guide work.
• Select, dress, position, and secure molds; handle crucibles with heat resistant equipment.
• Inspect finished castings and prepare crucibles/molds for next pour.
• Maintain pyrometer charts and production documentation.
• Report equipment issues to supervision promptly.
• Support safety culture and report incidents/near misses.

Job Details

Set up and operate casting furnaces to cast gold, silver, and other precious metal alloys into finished products

Charge and light furnaces, bring melt to correct pouring temperature, and control the pour using a hydraulic control system

Work from production orders, process sheets, and verbal or written instructions

Select, dress, position, and secure molds, and handle crucible work using proper heat resistant equipment

Inspect finished castings, clean and prep crucibles and molds for the next pour

Maintain accurate pyrometer chart records and production documentation

Report mechanical or electrical issues and equipment defects to supervision promptly

Support a strong safety culture, including reporting all incidents and near misses

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical or vocational training a plus
• 1 to 3 years of experience with casting furnaces, crucibles, hydraulic controls, and molds
• Comfortable with precision measuring tools, micrometers and calipers
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Able to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and production documentation
• Comfortable in a fast paced, production driven environment with changing priorities
