Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the casting department. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, trains with the shift lead millwright, and support safety initiatives.

The schedule features 12-hour shifts with rotating days, nights, and potential overtime to cover vacancies. Ideal candidates have hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and a proactive learning mindset.

Qualifications

• Safety first mindset demonstrated in all activities and Take Control of Safety participation.
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts up to 6 days in a row, day/night rotation.
• Hands-on, team player with strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Strong desire to learn and quickly build skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on casting dept equipment.
• Train with shift lead millwright and assist production personnel as needed.
• Help improve department safety initiatives and procedures.
• Engage in project and equipment rebuild work as required.
