Qualifications

• Backups, restore, repair, replication and compaction strategies.
• Troubleshoot performance: CPU, memory, I/O, GC, tombstones, SSTables.
• Experience with OpsCenter for monitoring and alerts.

Role: Cassandra / DataStax L3 DBA – RTP, NC | PST Shift

Primary Skills – Mandatory

• 6+ years of experience in Apache Cassandra / DataStax Enterprise (DSE)
• Strong hands-on production experience as a Cassandra L3 DBA/SME.
• Linux-based on-prem Cassandra administration.
• Cassandra/DataStax cluster installation, configuration, upgrades and patching.
• Experience with node addition/removal, scaling, cluster expansion and data-center expansion.
• Strong knowledge of Cassandra architecture, replication factor, consistency levels, partitioning and token/ring management.
• Hands-on experience with backup, restore, repair, replication and compaction strategies.
• Experience troubleshooting Cassandra performance issues involving CPU, memory, disk I/O, GC, latency, tombstones, SSTables and compaction.
• Strong experience with DataStax OpsCenter for monitoring, administration, alerts and troubleshooting.

Experience With Cassandra Spark And Graph Workloads Is Preferred.

• Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills.

Secondary Skills

• Redis Stack administration/support.
• Kubernetes-based Cassandra/database administration — good to have.
• PostgreSQL / MongoDB / MySQL — working knowledge preferred.
• Willingness and ability to learn MS SQL Server.
