Job summary

A growing software company in Northbrook, Illinois is seeking a full-time, experienced Cassandra DBA with a minimum of 5 years managing critical applications. The role requires hands-on experience with Cassandra on AWS and a deep understanding of performance tuning. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and have at least 7 years in IT. U.S. citizens and authorized workers are encouraged to apply, as sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing critical 24/7 applications.
• Experience in monitoring and managing Cassandra clusters.
• Deep understanding of Cassandra design principles and performance factors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and support of Cassandra operations.
• Implement and manage Cassandra databases in an enterprise environment.
• Monitor and tune performance of multi-datacenter clusters.

Job Description

• assisting with the design, implementation, and on-going support of Cassandra operational
• data.
• 5+ years of solid Cassandra DBA experience in managing critical 24/7 applications
• Hands-on experience with Cassandra database hosted on Amazon cloud is a must.
• Setup Nodes, Work on foundations, data models, etc • Implement a Cassandra Database in
• an enterprise, Design and Support data migration.
• Cassandra database administration on a multi-datacenter cluster. Must have hands-on
• experience in setting up Cassandra cluster.
• Must have experience in monitoring, performance tuning and managing Cassandra cluster.
• Strong understanding of complex inner workings of Cassandra, such as the gossip protocol,
• hinted handoffs, read repairs, Merkle trees.
• In depth knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra/no SQL database systems.
• Solid understanding of No SQL Database
• Expert in performance tuning
• Solid experience in solr
• Experience in handling big data
• Knowledge experience with other NoSQL (MongoDB) and RDBMS database technologies
• is a plus
• Proven experience with identifying hardware and software related issues.
• A deep understanding of Cassandra design principals, cluster connectivity, security and the
• factors that affect distributed system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 7 years of experience within the Information Technologies.
