SALARY RANGE: $44,000 yearly

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for monitoring and supervising the daily Casino floor operations on a specific shift for beverage, EVS and slots, ensuring that courteous and prompt service is provided by all employees.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS: 21 years of age

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Directly responsible for training Slot Attendants, EVS porters and Beverage Servers, providing each with knowledge and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities.
  2. Exhibits sound decision-making qualities, motivates personnel, and exhibits effective supervisory skills.
  3. Possesses a thorough working knowledge of the various types of slot machines, their functions, malfunctions and payout schedules.
  4. Responsible for all casino beverage functions and employees.
  5. Possesses knowledge of the gaming rules and regulations.
  6. Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with Slot players and handles customer services disputes, making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
  7. Exercises appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of management.
  8. Observes, supervises and countersigns hand paid jackpots.
  9. Familiar with the federal currency transaction reporting guidelines and implements the same.
  10. Oversees all jackpots to ensure the prompt and accurate execution of every transaction.
  11. Completes daily personnel assignments and reassigns personnel on the floor based on business volume.
  12. Observes all personnel in the performance of their duties.
  13. Builds rapport and coordinates daily functions with support service departments.
  14. Coordinates with Security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage slot machines and to identify floor irregularities to the Casino Shift Manager.
  15. Ensures timely and accurate evaluations are given to direct reports with appropriate standards and achieve departmental and company goals.
  16. Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  17. Role model great Guest Service and teamwork.
  18. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  19. Enforce rules and regulations of the Casino as covered in the MICs, ICs, Adopted Rules, and Gaming Act.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICAL:
  1. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  2. Must be able to see.
  3. Must be able to hear (can be augmented with a hearing aid).
  4. Must be able to perform moderate lifting.
  5. Tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality.
  6. Climb steps repeatedly.
MENTAL:
  1. Communicate verbally, clearly and articulately.
  2. Understand the needs of our guests.
  3. Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, job descriptions, daily memoranda and other instructions.
  4. Understand department procedures, Internal Controls, and instruct department on the correct procedures.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Must have basic math skills.
  7. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Prerequisites/Preferred Qualifications:

High School graduate or GED equivalent. Previous supervisory experience required. 1 year progressively more challenging role in operations preferring leadership role in Slots, Beverage or Table Games. Familiar with all Harrah’s Brand programs and systems. Excellent oral and good written communication skills. Must be fluent and literate in English. Proven problem-solving skills as demonstrated by the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when required. Ability to use a personal computer and appropriate software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, SDS, and CMS). Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50lbs, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas.

GAMING:

Must have the ability to hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board.
