Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a Cook responsible for food preparation in accordance with prescribed recipes and safety guidelines in our del Lago Resort & Casino kitchen.

The role focuses on consistency, quality and urgency, with a pay range of $27.09–$30.10 per hour. The position requires 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and culinary training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food preparation techniques and methods; familiar with kitchen equipment and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with prescribed recipes and safety guidelines.
• Maintain quality and consistency of dishes; adhere to standards and procedures.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and HACCP guidelines; pass Food Service Sanitation course.
• Label and date all food items, store properly and manage inventory.
• Complete daily kitchen setup, line checks, and prep lists; follow kitchen roadmaps.
• Be punctual for pre-shift meetings and participate actively; demonstrate hospitality and professional conduct.
• Work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends as required.
