Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ability to lift and move heavy patients and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct primary medical and trauma assessments, re-evaluations, and coordinate outside transport as needed.
• Bandage wounds, splint fractures, and control hemorrhages.
• Perform CPR and use an AED.
• Assist patients with prescribed medications and lifesaving interventions.
• Use diagnostic equipment such as sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, BVM, glucometer, thermometer.
• Administer emergency drugs per protocols approved by medical direction.
• Prepare well-documented medical reports.
• Maintain and disinfect all equipment and the medical suite.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Purpose or Objective(s)

As an EMT, you will respond to emergency calls to provide immediate, high-quality medical attention to the critically ill or injured, conduct medical assessments, and provide on-property treatment as a service to our guests and employees. Arrange transport to the hospital if needed while providing quality care until transporting unit arrives. You will report to the EMT Manager or Security Manager on-duty.

Start Rate: $17.55/hour | Full-Time | Schedule TBD

Primary Tasks

• You will conduct a primary medical and trauma assessment with re-evaluations, evaluating multiple patients, call for outside agency transport, and treat all emergencies within protocols, operating guidelines, and scope of practice for Choctaw Casino EMTs.
• Bandage wounds, splint fractures, and control hemorrhages.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
• You will assist patients with taking prescribed medications and perform any lifesaving interventions.
• Use diagnostic equipment such as a manual aneroid sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, BVM, glucometer, thermometer, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Administer emergency drugs such as Naloxone, Epinephrine auto-injectors (adult and pediatric), aspirin, Albuterol Sulfate, Ipratropium Bromide, Oxygen, and any medications within protocols approved by medical direction.
• Prepare well-documented medical reports.
• Maintain and disinfect all equipment after use, including the medical suite.
• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification by the State of Oklahoma as an EMT/EMT-B or higher
• National Registry Certification
• Current CPR certification
• At least 18 years of age
• Approved uniform and maintaining hygienic and grooming standards
• You will perform assigned tasks, including having the physical mobility to lift and move heavy patients, carry medical bags, and stand for long periods of time.
• Can know normal and abnormal vital sign ranges, measurements, and auscultations for both adult and pediatric patients.
• You will be expected to reason and react calmly and quickly in emergency and life-threatening situations.
