Job description

h3>Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time Seasonal

Provides support as a member of the Customer Service & E-Commerce team, including assisting customers during checkout, performing cash register functions, bagging groceries, and working at the customer service desk. Maintains attractive displays and supports Whole Foods Market's customer service vision. Ensures a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service. Performs duties in accordance with store SOPs and supports company values and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
  2. Upholds regulations concerning sale of alcohol and taxation.
  3. Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
  4. Uses proper tare procedures for scalable items.
  5. Cleans and stocks front end areas, including register maintenance.
  6. Follows all cash handling procedures.
  7. May assist in training new cashiers.
  8. Helps control customer flow to reduce wait times.
  9. Participates in company programs as directed.
  10. Arrives on time, groomed, dressed, and ready; attends trainings and meetings.
  11. Provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs promptly.
  12. Maximizes sales through proper merchandising and stock management.
  13. Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  14. Maintains cleanliness and safety of work environment and equipment.
  15. Performs opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring signage and pricing accuracy.
  16. Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
  18. For new hires from November 2024 onward, may be assigned shopper training and tasks.
Job Skills

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, pulling.
  • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
  • Work in wet and cold environments.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Operate tools and equipment, including heavy machinery and ladders.
