Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time Seasonal

Join us as a Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time Seasonal at Whole Foods Market.

This role involves supporting the Customer Service & E-Commerce team by assisting customers at checkout, operating cash registers, bagging groceries, and managing the customer service desk. You will help maintain attractive displays and uphold Whole Foods Market's customer service standards. All team members are expected to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service, adhere to store procedures, and support company values and health & safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Efficiently and accurately check out customer groceries.
  2. Comply with regulations concerning alcohol sales and taxation.
  3. Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
  4. Use correct tare procedures for scalable items.
  5. Keep the Front End area clean and stocked, including updating tapes and ribbons.
  6. Follow cash handling procedures to meet variance policies.
  7. Assist in training new Cashier Team Members as needed.
  8. Help control customer flow and reduce waiting times.
  9. Participate in company programs and initiatives.
  10. Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; attend scheduled shifts and trainings.
  11. Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and use suggestive selling techniques.
  12. Maximize sales through proper product handling and merchandising.
  13. Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
  14. Maintain a clean, safe working environment and proper equipment care.
  15. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties accurately.
  16. Report safety hazards immediately.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
  • Use of hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
  • Work in wet, cold, or hot environments as needed.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use of tools and heavy machinery, including ladders.
