Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time
Provides support as a member of the Customer Service & E-Commerce team, including assisting customers during check-out, performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, and working at the customer service desk. Maintains attractive customer service displays and supports Whole Foods Market's customer service vision. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members at all times, following store SOPs. Supports core values, promotes company programs, and adheres to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
- Uphold government regulations concerning sale of alcohol and taxation.
- Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
- Use proper tare procedures for scalable items.
- Clean and stock Front End areas, including register maintenance.
- Follow all cash handling procedures, exceeding variance policies.
- Assist in training new Cashiers and Cashier Assistants.
- Help control customer flow and reduce wait times.
- Participate in company programs as directed.
- Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work; attend scheduled shifts and trainings.
- Deliver excellent customer service, address needs promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximize sales through proper merchandising and stock management.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean environment and proper equipment maintenance.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accuracy.
- Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
No prior retail experience required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand/walk 6-8 hours per day.
- Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
- Work in wet, cold, or hot environments.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Operate tools and heavy machinery, possibly using ladders.
