Job description

Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time

Provides support as a member of the Customer Service & E-Commerce team, including assisting customers during checkout, performing cash register functions, bagging groceries, and working at the customer service desk. Maintains attractive customer service displays and supports Whole Foods Market's Customer Service vision. Ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members. All duties are performed in accordance with store procedures, supporting WFM core values, promoting company programs, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow government regulations on sale of alcohol and taxation.
  • Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
  • Use proper tare procedures when ringing up scalable items.
  • Clean and stock front end areas, including registers.
  • Follow cash handling procedures and meet variance policies.
  • Assist with training new team members.
  • Help control customer flow and reduce wait times.
  • Participate in company programs as directed.
  • Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and ready to work.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly.
  • Maximize sales through proper merchandising and product handling.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties accurately.
  • Report safety hazards immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals and in cold/wet environments.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Operate tools and heavy machinery, including ladders.
