Job summary

JCPenney in Norfolk, NE is seeking a friendly Cashier to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales at the register. You will greet shoppers, assist with credit, rewards, and gift card programs, and maintain accurate checkout standards.

As part of store operations you will support omnichannel efforts, handle returns and exchanges, participate in inventory and merchandising tasks, and uphold safety and performance standards.

Job description

As a Cashier you are accountable for the customer service and sales experience, including maintaining checkout standards, assisting with general operations such as omnichannel, recovery, and inventory, and upholding performance standards related to shrink, safety, and overall role performance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales – Greet and assist customers while providing excellent service, consistently demonstrating WORTH behaviors and engaging customers enthusiastically to resolve problems and assist with credit, rewards, and gift card programs. Promote Findmore and other programs to drive sales and enhance service.
• Checkout Standards – Complete checkout processes, including returns and re‑ticketing, and assist with signing, merchandising standards at all checkouts while stocking and merchandising impulse fixtures and replenishment. Proactively request assistance when additional help is needed. Utilize the Point of Sale on Mobile Warrior devices to support line management.
• General Operations – Assist with omnichannel efforts, recovery, put‑backs, fitting room maintenance, and participate in annual inventory processes.
• Performance Standards – Support company shrink and safety initiatives; consistently meet established performance standards, including iCAP program participation, product and service sales, customer service, profitability, productivity, and attendance.

Pay Range

USD $15.00/Hr – USD $18.75/Hr.
