C-A-L Ranch Stores was founded in 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID, by Clinton, Allen, and L. Wayne Murphy. The family used their initials “C-A-L” to create their brand. Our first store, located in Idaho Falls, ID, was called C-A-L Ranch & Farm Supply, with less than 3,000 square feet, primarily selling tillage tools and hardware. What You’ll Do

The cashier role is crucial as you are often the first and possibly the only representative of our company that customers interact with. It is essential to provide legendary customer service with professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

1. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
2. Stay informed about products, promotions, and advertisements.
3. Assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store cleanliness.
4. Help process and restock merchandise, including receiving and monitoring stock.
5. Follow all company policies regarding signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
6. Complete sales transactions accurately and efficiently, managing cash and media at POS registers.
7. Communicate guest requests to management.
8. Maintain a balanced cash drawer and operate the inventory system for price checks and look-ups.
9. Handle transactions including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and receipts.
10. Record totals, verify cash on hand, and process refunds or credits per store policies.
11. Operate the cash register, scan items, and display purchase details.
12. Watch safety videos and adhere to safety protocols.
13. Answer incoming calls promptly and route them appropriately.
14. Assist in training new employees and other team members.

Qualifications

1. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly, and over 25 pounds with assistance and equipment.
2. Must be physically present at the store; regular attendance is required.
3. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
4. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
