Job Summary
Processes Member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering several types of membership products, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service efficiently and maintains the overall cleanliness of the front-line department.

Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, including stocking all items, executing promotional plans, maintaining visible signage, and keeping the club clean and organized inside and out.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Understand all BJ’s Membership options, including renewals and upgrades.
- Offer membership products such as renewal, EASY renewal, loyalty programs, and rewards.
- Provide high-quality customer service and check members out efficiently.
- Scan merchandise accurately, manage inventory, and assist at self-checkout stations.
- Collect payments and issue receipts or change.
- Stay updated on promotions and discounts, and apply coupons.
- Maintain cleanliness and assist in general housekeeping.
- Manage self-checkout lanes and assist members with technical issues.
- Meet cashier productivity expectations.
- Follow all club policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
Qualifications
- Basic math skills preferred.
- Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
Environmental Job Conditions
- Frequent movement on hard surfaces, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds; heavier objects may require assistance.
- Indoor environment with infrequent temperature extremes and noise; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
