POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customer's merchandise through the POS registers. They perform various Customer Service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers promptly and friendly, and handling merchandise with care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
2. Approaches all customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
3. Remains knowledgeable about products.
4. Remains aware of advertised sales.
5. Stocks and straightens shelves and pegs when not directly ringing up products.
6. Provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting in making buying decisions through:
   • Identifying and evaluating customer needs,
   • Making product recommendations based on this analysis,
   • Promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
7. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Ability to calculate discounts and make change accurately.
• Ability to communicate professionally and friendly with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to operate computerized POS systems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant standing and walking during shifts.
• Occasional use of ladders, stairs, ramps.
• Constant communication with others.
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Occasional work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
• Occasional work in noisy environments.
• Light work involving moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds with team assistance.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Makes recommendations to improve work procedures and policies.
