Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay is seeking a retail team member to provide an outstanding customer and brand experience, drive sales, and operate registers. The role includes handling payments, assisting with price identification, and contributing to store standards and daily operations.

The position emphasizes excellent customer service, basic math, and clear English communication. Attendance and a willingness to support multiple duties across the sales floor are essential.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent math skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Performs Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and processes all forms of payments.
• Asks each customer for cash donations at POS.
• Establishes or identifies prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site leader.
• Completes closing procedures, as necessary.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greets customers that enter in the store and thanks customers leaving the establishment.
• Maintains sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture processing map) standards.
• Stocks merchandise in appropriate area as assigned.
• Utilizes systems, including phones and paging systems to make regularly scheduled announcements.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.

Position Description
