Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay in South San Francisco is seeking a store team member to lead a great customer and brand experience, run registers, and help promote sales.

You will greet customers, maintain floor standards, stock merchandise, and support the organization’s mission of empowering people and strengthening communities. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent math skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Process POS transactions and payments.
• Ask customers for cash donations at POS.
• Price goods by merchandise type and markings.
• Complete closing procedures, as necessary.
• Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greet customers and thank them entering and leaving.
• Maintain sales floor following floorwork and standard practices.
• Stock merchandise in assigned areas.
• Make announcements via paging systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Description

Works as a member of the store team to lead an excellent customer and brand experience, and promote sales for Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay. Responsible for running registers as well as working to maintain sales floor standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and processes all forms of payments.
• Asks each customer for cash donations at POS.
• Establishes or identifies prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site leader.
• Completes closing procedures, as necessary.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greets customers that enter in the store and thanks customers leaving the establishment.
• Maintains sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture process map) standards.
• Stocks merchandise in appropriate area as assigned.
• Utilizes systems, including phones and paging systems to make regularly scheduled announcements.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.
• Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Models Goodwill Core Values – Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
