Job summary

Buehler is seeking a friendly Cashier to join our Frontend team in Akron, registering customer purchases and delivering efficient service at the checkstand.

You will greet customers, operate the register, scan items, handle cash and non-cash payments, and assist with coupons and vouchers. The role requires accuracy, speed, and a customer-first mindset; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Availability to work 20–30 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
• Cashiering experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Physical demands include walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional lifts up to 80 lb.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and register purchases at the checkstand.
• Operate electronic register and scan/hand-ring items.
• Handle cash and non-cash transactions, give change.
• Proof checks, coupons, food stamps, and vouchers.
• Maintain a balanced drawer and ensure proper bagging and efficient checkout.
• Assist with FastLanes and provide pleasant customer interaction.

CASHIER:

Customer Service Clerk working on the Frontend and responsible for registering customer purchases at the checkstand. This person's primary duties require a thorough knowledge of check-out policies and procedures, and include greeting the customer; electronic register operations; scanning and/or hand ringing the customer's purchase; tendering cash and non-cash transactions; proofing checks; handling coupons, food stamps, and vouchers; making change; maintaining a balanced drawer; seeing the customer's purchase is bagged properly; working the FastLanes; and interacting with the customer to make the entire check-out process as pleasant and efficient as possible. Secondary duties assume related activities as required or assigned.

1. Availability: Must be available to be scheduled between 20-30hrs a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs


2. Previous Work Experience: Outstanding customer service skills – Cashiering experience preferred but not required – We will train


3. Physical Demands: Walking, bending, stooping, carrying, loading, etc.; repetitive lifting to 50#; occasional lifting to 80#.
