Job summary

Smokey Mo’s BBQ in Texas is hiring entry-level team members to help provide friendly, southern hospitality while serving our signature Texas BBQ favorites.

You’ll interact with guests, take orders, keep stations clean, follow recipes, and enjoy flexible schedules, competitive pay, meal discounts, and opportunities for advancement in a busy, energetic environment.

Qualifications

• All team members must have a valid Food Handler's permit and TABC certification.
• Ability to attend shifts on schedule and wear proper uniform.
• Stand for 8 hours and perform physical tasks (reach, bend, squat, stoop, lift).
• Follow instructions and perform duties accurately and efficiently.
• Good hearing for accurate communication.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Guests to create a positive experience with warm, southern hospitality.
• Take Guest orders accurately and ensure order accuracy.
• Properly follow cash handling procedures.
• Prepare sides and condiments; follow Smokey Mo’s recipes; maintain food handling, safety and sanitation; monitor portions.
• Keep your station and the restaurant clean; perform daily/weekly cleaning duties as instructed.

Requirements

General Duties:

• Interact with Guests in order to create a positive experience for them. This is Texas y’all! We treat all of our guests with warm, southern hospitality
• Take Guest orders accurately This is a no-brainer! Order accuracy is everything. You’ll need to get it right or, once in a while make it right.
• Properly follow cash handling procedures
• Prepare Sides and Condiments o Be able to follow Smokey Mo’s recipes accurately, efficiently and with a minimum of waste o Maintain proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards o Maintain proper portion controls
• Keep your station and the restaurant clean. Clean as you go! Keep your station and area cleaned throughout the day. Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties according to Smokey Mo’s instructions and standards

You will be asked to help other positions and areas depending on the needs for that day

Minimum Qualification for Team Members

Must be able to:

• Follow instructions and perform duties accurately and efficiently
