Job summary

Kane County Cougars are seeking a friendly Cashier to join our Geneva, Illinois stand. You will greet guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, while ensuring safety and sanitation standards.

You will handle cash and card transactions accurately, balance the cash drawer, and keep the stand organized in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old with strong guest-service skills, able to work in a busy setting, stand for long periods,

The Kane County Cougars are looking for a Cashier to join the team! The Cashier will provide excellent guest service by greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, while following safety and sanitation guidelines. Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, maintain inventory, and keep the work area clean and organized. Perform opening, closing, and other duties as assigned in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Greet guests approaching stand and provide details to guests on items for sale while using suggestive selling techniques.
• Serve food and beverage items in correct proportions, following proper sanitation guidelines.
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, requests identification, and adheres to all alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Participate in set-up, opening & closing procedures, arrange inventory, notifies supervisor of any inventory deficiency or shortages.
• Perform clean-up duties in the stand to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned in addition to cashier duties (if applicable).
• Properly record all transactions via the point-of-sale system and informs guests of the amounts owed.
• Collect the proper money for food and beverage items; processes credit cards or determines correct change for guests.
• Account for all transactions; maintains accurate cash count and balance banks at end of shift.
• All other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to provide excellent guest service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bending, reaching, and lifting; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Basic math skills; ability to accurately account for cash and inventory.
• Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and receive orders.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
