Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Cashier to process payments, issue receipts, and provide friendly service in the hospital café environment.

The role requires basic math, accurate cash handling, and adherence to sanitation and privacy standards while maintaining clean, stocked service areas and collaborating with coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 6+ months related experience or training
• ServSafe certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Enter all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are recorded accurately.
• Process cash, card and other accepted payments and issue receipts.
• Handle refunds by following standard procedures.
• Perform sales transactions in a timely and friendly manner.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Maintain change funds, cash drawer, and overall cash control.
• Keep service areas clean and stocked as directed.
• Follow sanitation and safety requirements and PHI/privacy rules.

Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.Carefully enters all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded.Makes change, accepts declining balance cards, and other acceptable forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers.Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion.Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner.Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.Observe customer purchases in the café line to differentiate between standard portions.Maintain, stock, and clean service areas as directed.Collect and record temperatures of food, service, and display areas as directed.Interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and cash control procedures.Assures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
