Job summary

Mustard Seed Market is seeking a friendly cashier to provide exceptional customer service at the front end. You will operate cash registers, manage self-checkouts and online ordering as assigned, and help maintain a clean, stocked, and safe checkout area.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, handling transactions, bagging groceries, guiding customers, and returning shopping carts. The role requires strong communication, basic math, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Previous Cashiering or Cash Handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests upon entry to department and store, while providing excellent customer service throughout their store experience.
• Execute proper cash handling and payment processing in accordance with Cash Variance policy and procedures.
• Perform drawer audits at the start and end of shift to ensure counts are correct.
• Monitor Self-Checkouts to address customer issues and ensure smooth transactions.
• Execute online ordering process in accordance with company policy and procedure (if applicable).
• Bag customer groceries in a timely and efficient manner according to bagging policy.
• Guide customers to store layout and product locations as needed.
• Return unwanted merchandise on an hourly basis or as needed.
• Collect and return shopping carts to company property as needed.
• Maintain a stocked, clean, safe, and sanitized front-end environment.

Job Summary

Provide exceptional customer service to guests throughout their store experience. Successfully operate, maintain, and sanitize cashier station, self-checkouts, and online ordering process depending on daily assignment. Support guests experience through upselling, proper bagging techniques, and carry-outs as needed. Replenish front end supplies and equipment including but not limited to shopping carts, baskets, and bags as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and offer immediate assistance to guests upon entry to department and store, while providing excellent customer service throughout their store experience
• Execute proper cash handling and payment processing in accordance with Cash Variance policy and procedures
• Preforms drawer audit at the start and end of assigned shift ensuring counts are within assigned values based on cash handling policy
• Monitor Self-Checkouts to address customer issues and ensure smooth transactions, addressing and resolving delays promptly as needed (if applicable to store)
• Execute online ordering process in accordance with company policy and procedure (if applicable to store)
• Bag customer groceries in a timely and efficient manner according to company bagging policy and best practices
• Have approximate knowledge of store layout and product locations to guide customers to answers or locations as needed in a timely manner
• Return unwanted merchandise on an hourly basis or as needed
• Collect and return shopping carts from surrounding areas and return to company property as needed
• Maintain a stocked, clean, safe, and sanitized front-end environment according to department needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Works in a non-smoking store environment where there is occasional discomfort due to exposure to dust/pollen, elements, temperatures changes, and infrequent environmental noise.
