Job summary

SSP America is hiring a Restaurant Cashier at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. You will process orders, handle payments, and provide friendly service in a fast-paced setting.

This full-time position pays $17.00 per hour plus tips and includes comprehensive benefits, advancement opportunities, free parking, and employee meals. SSP also offers health plan premium coverage participation.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be minimum 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to operate a keyboard & POS procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve drinks and food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop the work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Restaurant Cashier, here are few things you can expect:

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Other Requirements

• One year experience working in food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be minimum 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time
