POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customer's merchandise through the POS registers. They perform various Customer Service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, and handling merchandise with care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
• Approaches all customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Remains knowledgeable about products.
• Remains aware of advertised sales.
• Stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not directly ringing up product.
• Provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting in making buying decisions, including:
  • Identifying and evaluating customers' needs,
  • Making product recommendations based on this analysis,
  • Promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Ability to calculate discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to operate a computerized POS register system.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant standing and/or walking during shifts.
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Constant communication with others.
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Occasional work in low or high temperatures.
• Occasional outdoor work in elements such as precipitation and wind.
• Occasional work in noisy environments.
• Light work involving moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds constantly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally with team lift assistance.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Occasionally makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
