Description

Responsible for handling cash and non-cash sales of food items, managing the cafeteria for meal service, assisting with re-stocking food items and supplies as time permits, and demonstrating a professional, service-oriented attitude to all customers. Communicates relevant information to the Director or Manager/Supervisor that impacts the department or hospital.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Work Experience: 2 years related experience (Required).

Functional Accountabilities

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of dining area tables and chairs.
• Restock supplies and wipe down counters in the customer service area as time permits.
• Operate cash register proficiently and accurately process customer transactions.
• Handle cash and give correct change.
• Maintain a steady flow of customers to minimize wait times.
• Keep accurate records of transactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Sanitation and Safety

• Maintain sanitation standards per department and regulatory agency requirements.
• Clean work areas according to procedures and complete cleaning within designated times.
• Dispose of trash properly and keep the area around the cash register tidy.
• Follow food safety guidelines.

• Report unsafe behavior or performance of team members.
• Verify and validate information necessary for decision-making and documentation.
• Pause to resolve uncertainties.
• Communicate clearly and promptly, verbally and in writing.
