JOB SUMMARY:
Performs the service of welcoming restaurant guests and manages all payment for guest checks in assigned restaurant outlet.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Greets restaurant guests in a friendly, upbeat, and positive manner using the guest’s name when possible.
Personalizes every interaction with guest including the good-byes by inviting guests back and cross-selling other outlets.
Monitors and maintains room cleanliness, maintenance, and atmosphere in assigned area.
Familiarizes self with all items on the menu and explains food items when necessary.
Accepts responsibility for cash register bankroll, all cash received, charge card and complimentary receipts.
Receives, records, and makes change for all food and beverage guest checks processed.
Maintains the appropriate supplies needed for the proper performance of duties.
Responds to telephone calls and uses computerized cash register.
Records and pays out tips to Food Servers when the tips are charged to credit cards or hotel room charges.
Completes all necessary paperwork and floor plans at the beginning of each shift.
Provides information for guests who may have questions concerning Harrah’s.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Highschool degree or equivalent
Prefer previous demonstrated success working in a restaurant or guest contact position
QUALIFICATIONS:
Literate and fluent in English
Team Player with excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and a commitment to success
PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Mobility skills to move quickly and easily around in a high-volume restaurant
Ability to stand, walk, carry, reach, and work in a noisy environment
Manual dexterity skills to include handling menus, buttons and pens/pencils
Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
Must be able to obtain a Missouri Gaming License.
