Job Summary

As a Cashier, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to our reputation as a customer-focused organization. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. A positive, outgoing attitude and a passion for service are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Customer Service: Engage proactively with customers, ask questions, listen to needs, and inform them about merchandise, upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, STAR card, and more. Provide excellent customer service, build respectful relationships, and take accountability for actions.
2. Organization: Maintain the check-out area, restock bags, packaging materials, and labels.
3. Sales: Ensure customers find what they need, suggest current trends and promotions, process transactions via POS system, handle cash, and manage sales records.
4. Inventory: Manage merchandise, perform inventory checks, and ensure proper ticketing and check-in procedures. Participate in periodic inventories.
5. Dependability: Adhere to work schedules and complete assignments accurately.
6. Other Duties: As assigned.

Qualifications

• Product knowledge and familiarity with POS systems.
• Retail or relevant experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructions and manuals.
• Basic math skills, including use of calculators and making change.
• Ability to multi-task, be attentive to customers, and work as part of a team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role involves constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing for extended periods. May require stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing ladders. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. and work indoors or outdoors depending on location.
