Job summary

Houchens Food Group is hiring a Cashier to support daily checkout operations with accuracy and efficiency. You will handle cash, credit and checks, issue receipts, greet customers, and maintain clean checkout areas in a fast-paced store environment.

This role reports to the Store Manager/Assistant Manager and requires reliability, attention to detail, and strong customer service. Shift schedules include evenings, weekends, and potential overtime, with flexible full-time or part-time availability.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in cash handling and customer service is beneficial.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure accuracy.
• Greet customers entering store and provide courteous service.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Establish or identify prices and tabulate bills using cash registers or scanners.
• Resolve customer complaints and answer questions about procedures.
• Record all sales and operate shift checkout processes.
