Job summary

Kroger in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience. You will greet shoppers, help them find products, and ensure a safe, clean store environment that makes customers want to return.

You will operate the point-of-sale system, process cash, checks, and card payments, handle loyalty offers and coupons, follow company policies, and assist with price checks and basic store duties to support a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Be visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and store promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
