Job summary

Kroger in Savannah, TN is seeking a friendly and reliable cashier to create an outstanding customer experience at the checkout and in-store service. You will greet customers, scan items, handle payments, and ensure accuracy and speed at the register.

You will follow safety guidelines, assist with restocking and respond to questions about products while upholding company values of respect, honesty, integrity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers at the cashier/check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle payments including cash, checks, credit/debit, etc.
• Adhere to company policies on cash handling, shortages, and overages.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow store procedures for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Maintain awareness of ads, promotions and food safety regulations.
• Ensure a safe environment and report any safety issues to management.
